Heavy Rain Throws Life Out of Gear in The City
GUWAHATI: Incessant rain inundated various parts of the city mostly in east Guwahati and several pockets in Dispur throwing life out of gear on Monday.
In the Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, Lachit Nagar, Sarania, Hatigaon areas of the city, residents remained confined to their homes as houses remained under water the roads were flooded.
Traffic was also partially paralyzed on NH-37 which passes through the city.
An incident of landslide was reported in the Nizarapaar area of the city, but no one was injured.
Met department predicted that the sky over Guwahati and its neighbourhood will be clear from Tuesday.
"We hope that the weather will improve soon. The city has been experiencing incessant rain for almost four days. The concerned authorities continue to turn a blind eye to the pleas of the residents worst affected by artificial floods. We hope to get some relief only when the rain stops," said Sanjay Dutta, a resident of Nabin Nagar.
